Kitchen chimneys have been designed to keep your kitchen clean. Through its components – including filters, meshes, and the exhausts – the kitchen chimneys suck in soot, grease particles, smoke, steam, vapour, and fumes.
The kind of extracts your chimney has to suck out depends entirely upon the things that you cook in your kitchen. However, no matter how heavy or how light the work your Kitchen Chimney does, the impurities it sucks out of your kitchen do get deposited on its interiors making it less effective over a period of time.
To maintain the effectiveness of the Kitchen Chimney, which obviously will keep your kitchen cleaner, we need to clean the chimney on a regular basis. The question is how often?
Well, it sure does depend upon your cooking, and how much smoke, soot, steam, vapour, and grease emanates from your kitchen. We at Swift Homes, with an experience of over two decades with Kitchen Chimneys, suggest that the Kitchen Chimneys should be cleaned one every three months, at least.
You can do the cleaning process even more frequently, depending upon the way you cook. If your cooking involves a lot of oil, we suggest that the cleaning process of the chimneys should be way more frequent than the maximum three month time period. Only then can you keep your chimneys effective and running.
Another important question is how to clean. The first and basic cleaning process is to clean the chimney from outside. You can use vinegar or dishwashing soap to clean your chimney from the outside. Wipe off the grime and the oil clean and dry it before you put the chimney to use again.
The second important part is the hood of the chimney, where a lot of grease and slime gets deposited. The best way to clean this is to use baking soda, for it has been used as a cleaning agent in homes for thousands of years.
All you need to do is make a paste of the baking soda, apply it to the hood of the chimney and wipe it clean. You can repeat the process unless satisfactory results are not achieved.
Besides, the exteriors and the hood of the chimney, you also need to clean the filters and the meshes of your chimneys to keep it effective. For the filters and the meshes, we suggest you use the dishwashing soap.
You can open the chimney, as described in the users manual, clean the filters and the meshes and put them back after cleaning them. This cleaning process will not only make your chimney effective but it will also increase the life of the chimney and help you keep your kitchen clean.
Clean chimneys are good for not only kitchen decor but also for the health of your loved ones.
