Every cabinet and drawer can take only a limited amount of weight. They are made to carry a certain weight and cannot bear any overload. Loading too much into them can damage the hinges and slides which can cause them to sag over a period of time, making it difficult to align. 

Do not place any hot dishes on the counter:

Although kitchen counters are made of different materials such as granite, marble etc and are sturdy, however, prolonged exposure to heat can cause warping and discolouration, weaken them or can even break them. It’s quite difficult to repair a broken counter and an even more expensive task to replace it.

Don’t neglect regular maintenance:

Anything like the chipping of laminates or loose hardware seen anywhere in the kitchen must be taken care of immediately. 

Do not put damp utensils in the drawer:

If your kitchen cabinets are made of regular plywood or MDF then it can cause mould formation and weaken the carcass of the cabinets with time. Excess moisture can cause permanent damage, such as the warping of wood or discolouration and can even cause the growth of mildew.
